Ponder...
A boulder of unknown size sits in the middle of an unknown piece of barren land and contains a diamond of unknown size in its centre. Every day an unknown amount of rock is eroded by wind and rain thus thinning out the layer of rock between the boulder surface and the diamond by an unknown amount. An unknown man knows of the diamond within the rock and sits by the boulder, waiting to see at which unknown point in time the diamond will be revealed to him. He sits and waits unknowingly. One day, the unknown man knows that he has the option of wandering the land in search of some other unknown boulder in which the presence or absence of a diamond is unknown.
Does he leave the the boulder in search of another boulder and run the risk of dying in the middle of the piece of barren land without ever finding again the original boulder or any other boulder? Or does he sit and wait for the unknown period of time and point in time at which the diamond in the boulder revealed which may very well come after his death?
What's the answer...
