alright... so here i am with my second attempt at blogging after leaving my first one to rot before finally deciding to put it out of its misery by deleting it. haha. first post... shall account for the interesting things that hav happened over the past 2 weeks including hawaii (yay).
hmm vjcsb's 1st overseas trip in no-one-remembers-how-long to hawaii for a week(24th to 31st march)... lets see if i remember...
Day 1
everyone arrived at the airport full of anticipation for the trip... THE trip to hawaii... yep the one which we slogged our asses off for for 10 weeks... so flight to korea on dreadful korean airlines(alright it wasnt all that bad... but not good either) where i slept most of the way... touched down in korea when it was abt 10 to 15 degrees... alright 10 to 15 degrees... not freezing cold right? but trust me... it was cold enough... cold enough so that when the wind blew in your face u could feel the skin on ur face dry up and pull taught and ur ears and nose felt like they were gonna fall off... hmm... yea so it was udon for breakfast, visit to a picturesque korean palace surrounded by mountains n streams(literally
fengshui), ginseng chicken soup or lunch, shopping shopping shopping(ok the time allocated was for shopping but most of the time i window-shopped due to my lack of korean won), visit to world cup stadium and then to the airport on our flight to hawaii.
Day 2
arrived in hawaii, left our bags in the hotel lobby and immediately left for the circle island tour... yea.. mostly sightseeing around beautiful hawaii... lol... up till then we hadnt bathed for the last 36 hrs... so u wd imagine we were smelling preetty bad. after that it was back to hotel, bath, dinner nearby and the sleep.
Day 3
junloong woke me up 3 min b4 it was time to go down... like woot... breakfast at Perry's Smorgys... rehearsal for ajudication and shopping centre performance i think. then it was off to ala moana for our shopping centre performance in my powder pink polo tee, how wonderful. performance went well i guess with st pat's there to watch us... and then it was off to the welcome dinner for the various bands. got a seat next to christina and janice at a table with 2 fukuoka ppl, australian ppl, and 2 patricians... hmm janice wd agree with me that the patricians had wonderful table manners... hmm and
someone looked spectacular that night(dont ask me, go figure) hahaha... hmm yea the dinner was pretty good.
Day 4
alright this time junloong woke me up 15 mins before it was time to go down(6am)... like woot... breakfast at Perry's Smorgy again and its was off to pearl harbour... historical stuff all over the place but us being us? it was photos photos photos all over the place.... suppose the trip to pearl harbour was an experience. after that it was workshop with glenn price and then rehearsal.
Day 5
THE Big Day... Ajudication... All we worked for was done in the 20 minute performance. Florentina March, With Heart and Voice, Bahn Frei and it was over... We did well... then it was the last band for the afternoon and free time... one thing to note abt pucblic transport in hawaii. the taxis are exhorbitant and the bus is super inefficient which caused all 26 of us, who went back to ala moana for our last bit of shopping, to arrive a whopping 15 min late hence it was a mad dash from the bus stop to the hotel looking like a bunch of deranged asians. after that it was the 2nd half of the ajudicated performance including stpats and the insanely-good fukuoka select band. that nite we slept really really really late... was really really fun... haha lots of fun and laughter in conran's room...
Day 6
breakfast at Perry's Smorgy AGAIN... abit sick of the same thing... exchange with Killara High frm australia, shopping at international marketplace and then it was command performance by st pats n fukuoka followed by the moment of truth... the results... well after a whole string of silvers and gold for st pats n the jap band... it was last but nt least vj... GOLD of course... and everyone went hysterical... yippee our work paid off... haha... the nite was great... although i was too tired to last the whole nite of celebrations though... haha... watched south park on tv :P... hmm one interesting that happened that nite... after the command performance a certain bashful jap fella did smth... interesting... hahaha... nah shant mention much...
Day 7
last day of the american breakfast and we were whistled off to the airport where we left for singapore... sooo sad... but i guess all good things must come to an end...
well, thats all abt hawaii... its gonna be running for exco next week... shall blog abt it sometime nex week... alright.
